Uduk_people

The Uduk are a Nilo-Saharan group from eastern Sudan. They call themselves Kwanim Pa and are culturally and linguistically related to neighboring communities, such as the Gumuz and the Koma from the Sudan-Ethiopia borderland. Due to the recent war in southern Sudan they have been forced to emigrate to other countries, especially Ethiopia. After the peace agreement in 2005, some Uduk have started to return home.

Uduk has since 1998 migrated to the West for the first time in history and found their way to education.

Mr. BuBa has bachelor degrees in Political Science and International Relation from the University of Utah in 2005.He was the leader of the USAID Pilot Program for Southern Blue Nile, Sudan in 2006. He assessed the political, economical, educational and infrastructure of Southern Blue Nile state. In fact, Martin is currently attending the master of Public Administration program at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Davis Burapa has a Bachelor degree in Social Work from Weber State University in Utah in 2006 and currently pursueing a Master degree in Social Work in Texas. He is also a prominent Uduk man.He has experience working as Social Work in the Odessey House in Utah for nearly over two years.

Jackson Sila has a bachelor degree in Business Administration in 2006 and he is also a prominent Uduk who lives in Arizona. Jackson served for three months in the USAID pilot program for Southern Blue Nile and was the last Uduk to report on the current political issues of Southern Blue Nile in 2007. He co-chaired the Pilot Program with Martin BuBa, when he joint the pilot program for Southern Blue Nile after graduation in 2006.

There are Uduk in Austerilia, Canada and the United States of America. There are no Uduk in the United Kingdom, nor in Europe, not even in Asia.
